tcam — plug-and-play IP camera app with live video monitoring, two-way audio, PTZ control, H.265 codec support, motion alerts, and optional cloud recording for home security.
tcam is a mobile app for plug-and-play IP cameras that provides live video monitoring, two-way audio, PTZ control, and recording management. It works with WiFi IP cameras compatible with the LookCam ecosystem, including cameras that also work with LookCam, CloudWayCam, VDP, AIBoxcam, and IP System apps.
Power on your IP camera — it will broadcast a temporary WiFi network. Connect your phone to that network, open the tcam app, and add the device. Once discovered, configure the camera to join your home WiFi network. The camera then becomes accessible remotely via P2P connectivity.
Yes, tcam is free to download and use for core features including live video viewing, two-way audio, PTZ control, motion alerts, and recording management. Optional cloud storage plans are available as in-app purchases with 7-day, 30-day, or 120-day retention periods.
Yes, tcam supports the H.265 (HEVC) video codec. H.265 provides significantly better video compression compared to H.264, meaning you get better video quality while using less bandwidth — especially useful for users with limited upload speeds on their home network.
Yes, tcam includes two-way audio functionality. You can talk and listen through supported IP cameras directly from the app. This is useful for baby monitoring, communicating with visitors, or issuing verbal warnings to intruders in your monitored area.
tcam offers optional cloud storage through in-app purchases on iOS. Plans include event-based recording (triggered by motion) and all-day continuous recording, with retention options of 7, 30, or 120 days. The base app works without cloud storage — you can use local recording on your camera's SD card.
First ensure your camera is connected to your home WiFi (not in AP mode). Check that your phone has internet access. tcam uses P2P connectivity, so port forwarding is not typically needed. Try restarting the camera and the app. If the camera is behind a strict firewall or CGNAT, remote P2P connections may be blocked.
tcam is part of the LookCam camera app ecosystem, developed by the same team (lookcam). Cameras compatible with LookCam are generally compatible with tcam, CloudWayCam, VDP, AIBoxcam, and IP System apps. They share the same underlying P2P camera platform.
tcam currently supports English and Simplified Chinese. The app is available on iOS (requires iOS 13.0 or later) and Android (requires Android 6.0 and up).
You can reach the developer by email at [email protected]. The developer website is lookcam.cn. For general troubleshooting, try restarting the app and camera, checking your WiFi connection, and ensuring your camera firmware is up to date.
The image is pretty good for the size of camera, but after it recorded it's almost impossible to play it or download. The cloud storage only play the videos in fast forward.
Works well for basic IP camera monitoring. Live view is smooth and the PTZ control is responsive. Two-way audio is clear enough for checking on my baby. Simple setup process.
Decent camera app for the price. Connected my WiFi camera in minutes. Motion alerts work reliably and I like that it supports H.265. Would like more cloud storage options.
Basic but functional. The live streaming works most of the time. Sometimes disconnects when switching between cameras but reconnecting is quick. Good enough for home monitoring.
Great free camera app! I use it to monitor my front door and backyard cameras. P2P connection means I didn't have to mess with port forwarding on my router. Two-way talk is handy.
Good budget IP camera app. Supports multiple cameras from a single interface. PTZ controls work smoothly and the H.265 support means better quality at lower bandwidth. Would appreciate night mode.
Using this as a baby monitor and it works perfectly. Two-way audio is clear, live video is stable, and the alerts let me know immediately when there's movement. Free and simple.
App works but the interface could be modernized. Video streaming is reliable and camera setup was straightforward. Cloud storage pricing is reasonable compared to other apps.
Solid free camera app for plug-and-play IP cameras. No subscription needed for basic features which is great. Recording management is easy and motion detection works well.
Excellent for monitoring multiple cameras. Setup was easy — just scan and connect. PTZ control is smooth, alerts are timely, and the P2P connection means I can check cameras from anywhere.
tcam is a security camera app designed to work with plug-and-play IP cameras, providing a streamlined mobile client for live video monitoring, remote camera control, and recording management. Developed as part of the LookCam ecosystem, tcam serves as a practical companion for users who want to monitor their home, office, or any environment through compatible WiFi IP cameras.
The core purpose of the tcam app is to help you check your environment in real time and receive dynamic alarm prompts when activity is detected. Whether you're monitoring a baby's room, keeping an eye on your front door, or overseeing a small business, tcam provides the essential tools for remote surveillance through your smartphone.
tcam supports several key features for IP camera management. You can view real-time video streams from your connected cameras, use two-way audio (talk and listen) to communicate through the camera, and control PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) movements on supported camera models. The app also lets you manage user accounts, configure device parameters, and organize recorded footage — all from a single mobile interface.
Setting up a camera with tcam follows a straightforward process. Power on your IP camera, connect your phone to the camera's temporary WiFi access point, open the tcam app, and add the device. Once discovered, configure the camera to join your home WiFi network for ongoing remote access. The app supports P2P (peer-to-peer) connectivity, allowing you to access your camera feed from anywhere without complex network configuration.
The tcam app also supports H.265 video codec, which provides better video quality at lower bandwidth compared to older codecs — an important feature for users with limited internet upload speeds. This means smoother live streaming and more efficient storage of recorded clips.
For users who want cloud-based recording, tcam offers optional cloud storage plans through in-app purchases. Available options include event-based and all-day recording with retention periods of 7, 30, or 120 days. The base app is free to download with core monitoring features available at no cost, making it accessible for budget-conscious security setups.
tcam is part of a broader camera app family that includes LookCam, CloudWayCam, VDP, AIBoxcam, and IP System — all developed by the same team under the lookcam brand. This ecosystem approach means cameras compatible with one app in the family are generally compatible with tcam as well.
The app is available on both iOS (requiring iOS 13.0 or later) and Android (6.0 and up). It supports English and Simplified Chinese and is designed specifically for iPhone on the iOS side. For support, contact the developer at [email protected] or visit the developer website at lookcam.cn.
Whether you need a simple IP camera viewer for home monitoring, a baby monitor app with two-way audio, or a budget security camera solution with cloud recording options, tcam provides the essential features for plug-and-play IP camera management without unnecessary complexity.
