Ring devices require a Wi-Fi connection to function. Without internet, you cannot receive alerts, view live video, or access cloud recordings. Some Ring Alarm features work locally but cannot send alerts without a connection.

Use the Shared Users feature in the Ring app. Go to your device settings, select Shared Users, and invite family members by email. Shared users get limited access — they can view live video and receive alerts but cannot change device settings.

Yes. Ring integrates deeply with Amazon Alexa. You can use voice commands to view camera feeds on Echo Show or Fire TV, receive doorbell announcements on Echo devices, and create Alexa Routines triggered by Ring events.

With Ring Protect Plus or Pro, you can enroll in 24/7 professional monitoring. When your Ring Alarm is triggered, trained agents can verify the alarm and dispatch police, fire, or medical responders. Available in all 50 US states and Canada (excluding Quebec).

With a Ring Protect subscription, videos are stored in the cloud for up to 180 days. Without a subscription, no video recordings are saved — you only get live view.

Ring is designed primarily for the Amazon ecosystem and works best with Alexa. There is no native Google Home or Apple HomeKit integration. Third-party solutions like IFTTT may provide limited cross-platform functionality.

Battery-powered Ring devices will go offline when the battery is depleted. You'll receive a low battery notification in the app before this happens. Recharge using the included USB cable or consider adding a Ring Solar Panel.
