gCMOB is designed to work with CP Plus security devices including DVRs (Digital Video Recorders), NVRs (Network Video Recorders), IP cameras, and video door phones. It supports devices that use the InstaOn cloud platform for easy remote connectivity. The app is available for Android devices and the iOS counterpart is called iCMOB.

You can add a device to gCMOB in three ways: (1) Scan the QR code or InstaOn ID printed on your CP Plus device, (2) Enter the device serial number manually along with the IP address/domain and port, or (3) Use the InstaOn cloud platform to automatically discover and connect to your devices. After adding, log in with your DVR/NVR username and password to start viewing.

Yes, gCMOB is completely free to download and use. There are no subscription fees, in-app purchases, or premium tiers. All features including live view, playback, push notifications, PTZ control, and two-way talk are available at no cost. The app is the official companion for CP Plus security systems.

gCMOB itself is a mobile app for Android (with iCMOB for iOS). For PC/Mac monitoring, CP Plus provides KVMS Pro — a dedicated desktop software for Windows. You can also use Android emulators like BlueStacks to run gCMOB on a PC, though KVMS Pro is the recommended desktop solution for full functionality.

InstaOn is CP Plus's cloud connectivity platform that eliminates the need for complex port forwarding or static IP configuration. When your CP Plus DVR/NVR is connected to the internet, InstaOn creates a secure cloud tunnel that allows gCMOB to connect to your device from anywhere. Simply scan the InstaOn QR code on your device to get started — no network expertise required.

Connection failures can be caused by several factors: (1) Check your internet connection on both the phone and the DVR/NVR, (2) Verify the device serial number, username, and password are correct, (3) Ensure the DVR/NVR is powered on and connected to your network, (4) If using direct IP connection, check port forwarding settings, (5) Try using InstaOn cloud access instead of direct IP, (6) Update gCMOB to the latest version, as older versions may have compatibility issues.

gCMOB supports flexible live preview with split-screen layouts of up to 16 channels simultaneously. You can swipe to switch between camera groups when you have more than 16 cameras. For playback, the app supports up to 4 channels of simultaneous recorded video viewing.

gCMOB is the Android version and iCMOB is the iOS version of the same CP Plus mobile surveillance app. Both apps offer the same core features: live view, playback, PTZ control, push notifications, InstaOn cloud access, and two-way talk.
