Home/Away Assist uses your phone's location and the activity sensors built into Nest devices to determine when everyone has left the house. When everyone is away, Nest can automatically switch thermostats to Eco Temperature, turn on cameras, and arm your Nest Secure alarm. When someone comes home, it reverses these settings. You can configure which devices participate in Home/Away routines in the app settings.

Yes, you can invite family members to join your Nest home through the app's Family section. Each person uses their own Google Account to sign in. All family members can view cameras, adjust thermostats, arm/disarm security, and receive alerts. You can manage family member access from Settings > Family.

Nest cameras go offline typically due to Wi-Fi issues. Check your internet connection and router, ensure the camera is within Wi-Fi range, and restart both the camera and router. The Nest app will show the camera's connection status. If the issue persists, check for firmware updates, try moving the camera closer to the router, or contact Nest support at nest.com/support.

Nest takes privacy seriously. Video and audio data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Nest does not sell personal data to third parties.
