XSH Cam is a free video surveillance companion app for smart doorbells and wireless security cameras. It uses P2P (peer-to-peer) protocol to provide live viewing up to 1080P, two-way audio, motion alerts, cloud recording, and SD card playback.
The Android version of XSH Cam was removed from Google Play in May 2024. The app remains available on the iOS App Store. Some third-party APK sources may still host older Android versions, but these are not officially supported.
XSH Cam requires a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network — 5 GHz networks are not supported. Make sure your phone volume is turned up high, and place both your phone and camera/doorbell within 10 cm of your router during the pairing process. Restart your phone if pairing fails repeatedly.
XSH Cam supports Wi-Fi video doorbells, Wi-Fi battery cameras, 4G wireless battery cameras, solar Wi-Fi/4G cameras, and panoramic cameras that use the XSH Cam P2P protocol. It is not a generic IP camera viewer — only compatible OEM devices will work.
Yes, XSH Cam supports cloud recording for event-triggered video clips. You can also use a microSD card inserted into your camera for local storage and playback through the app.
Notification issues are commonly reported. Ensure notifications are enabled in both the app settings and your phone's system settings. Check that background app refresh is enabled, the app has permission to send alerts, and battery optimization is not restricting the app.
XSH Cam is primarily a mobile app. On Mac, it can run on Apple Silicon Macs through the iOS app. There is no official Windows or desktop version available.

Works fine with budget cameras. App is cryptic at first but rebooting phone helps if it acts up. Video quality is surprisingly good for the low cost.

The phone's volume must be on high plus the phone and doorbell must be within 10 cm from router when pairing or it will not pair. Once you know the trick it works great.
Good video doorbell, PIR not so good. The bell is very loud and getting notifications on my phone and being able to communicate with people who knock on is excellent. Motion detection could be more reliable though.
