Introduction
Ucon — 4G LTE Trail Camera App for Wildlife Monitoring & Property Security
Managing a cellular trail camera in a remote location shouldn't require driving hours to check footage or swap SD cards. Ucon is a free mobile application developed by 维巍 方 (Wei Wei Fang) via the UBIA platform (ubianet.com) for iOS and Android, purpose-built as the companion app for 4G LTE cellular trail cameras. The app connects your smartphone to compatible trail cameras over the 4G cellular network, delivering real-time push notifications when the PIR sensor detects motion, live video streaming on demand, remote camera control, and cloud storage for captured photos and videos — all without needing WiFi or being anywhere near the camera. With a 4.7-star rating on the App Store from 2,700+ ratings, a 4.5-star rating on Google Play with 100,000+ downloads, Ucon has become a trusted tool for hunters, wildlife enthusiasts, and property owners who need reliable remote monitoring in areas without internet access.
How Ucon Works — From Detection to Your Phone
The Ucon app works with 4G LTE trail cameras that use a built-in Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor to detect heat and motion from animals or people. When triggered, the camera captures a 14MP photo or video clip (up to 30 seconds on solar models), saves it to the local SD card, and simultaneously transmits a compressed copy to your phone via the 4G cellular network. You receive an instant push notification alerting you to the event. The entire process happens with a 0.6-second trigger speed, ensuring fast-moving wildlife or intruders are captured before they leave the frame.
Live Streaming & Remote Control
One of Ucon's standout features is live streaming — you can open the app at any time and view a real-time video feed from your trail camera, no matter how far away you are. The app offers : a "Dualway Mode" that enables both live streaming and motion-triggered recording, and a "One-Way Mode" that only records on motion detection to conserve battery and data. All camera settings — detection sensitivity, capture mode (photo/video/burst), resolution, and night vision parameters — can be through the app without visiting the camera site.
Yes, Ucon is completely free to download and use on both iOS and Android. Core features including live streaming, motion detection alerts, remote camera control, and local SD card storage are available at no cost. Cloud storage subscriptions are optional paid add-ons with a free trial included.
Which trail cameras work with the Ucon app?
Ucon works with 4G LTE cellular trail cameras built on the UBIA platform, including brands like SEHMUA, Agri Solsec, KentFaith, and Ubox. The app supports both 4G cellular cameras and WiFi camera variants. Check if your camera's packaging or manual mentions 'Ucon' or 'UBIA' for compatibility.
How do I set up my trail camera with the Ucon app?
Download the Ucon app, create an account, and log in. Insert a SIM card into your trail camera and power it on. In the app, tap the add device button in the upper right corner, select '4G Camera' or 'WiFi Camera', then scan the QR code on the camera or its packaging. The app will guide you through the remaining setup steps.
Does Ucon require a monthly subscription?
No. All core features work without any subscription. You can use local SD card recording at full 14MP resolution for free. Cloud storage is available as an optional in-app purchase starting from $3.49/month for 30-day recurring storage, but it is entirely optional.
What does the Ucon app's live streaming feature require?
Live streaming requires your trail camera to be in 'Dualway Mode' and have an active 4G cellular connection with a valid SIM card and data plan. The camera must be powered on (battery or solar). Live streaming uses cellular data, so ensure your data plan has sufficient allowance.
How far can the Ucon trail camera's night vision see?
Ucon-compatible trail cameras feature infrared LED night vision with an illumination range of up to 80 feet (approximately 24 meters). The cameras automatically switch between day and night modes based on ambient light levels for clear footage around the clock.
Can I share my Ucon camera with family members?
Yes, Ucon supports camera sharing. The primary account holder can share camera access with other users. Each shared user needs to download the Ucon app and create their own account to view the shared camera feed and receive notifications.
What is the difference between Dualway Mode and One-Way Mode?
Dualway Mode enables both live streaming and motion-triggered recording — you can view the live feed anytime and also receive motion alerts. One-Way Mode only records when the PIR sensor detects motion, which conserves battery life and cellular data significantly. Choose One-Way Mode for maximum battery longevity in remote locations.
Why is my Ucon app not receiving notifications?
First, ensure notifications are enabled for the Ucon app in your phone's settings. Check that your trail camera has an active 4G connection with a valid SIM card and data plan. Verify the camera's battery level is sufficient and PIR motion detection is enabled in the app settings. If issues persist, try reinstalling the app.
Does Ucon work without cell service?
The Ucon app requires a 4G cellular connection to communicate with the trail camera remotely. Without cell service at the camera's location, the camera will still capture photos and videos to the local SD card, but you won't receive real-time notifications or be able to view the live feed until the camera regains cellular coverage.

Works as expected. Very impressive video quality and I love that you can see the battery charge level. The night vision is excellent and the camera captures clear images even in complete darkness. Great value for monitoring remote property.
It's good, not great. The camera works well overall and the 4G connection is reliable. Sometimes images fail to load in the app, but switching between WiFi and cellular data fixes it. Motion detection alerts come through quickly.

Two-way live viewing is amazing — works way better than expected. Easy to set up and the live feed quality is surprisingly good over 4G. Being able to check the camera from miles away gives great peace of mind.

Easy to set up. Great for hunting and security. The free trial period for cloud storage is a nice touch. Motion alerts are fast and the photos are clear. Wonderful app for the price of the camera.

Best trail camera app I've used. The 4G connectivity means I can check my cameras at the hunting property without driving 2 hours. Push notifications with photos are instant. Cloud storage pricing is very reasonable.

Solid app for monitoring our rural property. The PIR detection is sensitive enough to catch deer and people but doesn't trigger on wind or rain. Live streaming works well when you need it. Would like a landscape mode option.

Works great with my 4G camera at the farm where there's no WiFi. The app connects quickly and the live feed is smooth even on cellular data. Cloud storage is reasonably priced. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Perfect for wildlife photography. Set up three cameras on my property and the Ucon app manages all of them easily. Burst mode captures multiple frames so I never miss the action. Battery life with solar panel is excellent.

Good trail camera app with reliable 4G connection. The motion detection alerts come through fast and the photo quality is decent for the price. Only complaint is occasional connection drops, but reconnecting is quick and easy.
