Introduction
GENBOLT CAM — The Complete Security Camera App for WiFi, POE, Battery & 4G LTE Cameras
GENBOLT CAM is the official companion app for all Genbolt security cameras, providing a unified control center for WiFi, POE (Power over Ethernet), battery-powered, and 4G LTE camera models. Developed by Genbolt Inc. — a Shenzhen-based manufacturer specializing in outdoor and indoor IP security cameras — the app delivers real-time live video streaming, remote PTZ control, motion-triggered alerts, and flexible storage options through one clean interface. Available on iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac, GENBOLT CAM turns your phone, tablet, or computer into a full-featured security monitoring station.
The app connects to your Genbolt camera through a Cloud P2P system that requires just two steps: create an account and enter the camera's Cloud ID. No port forwarding, no static IP configuration, no network expertise required. This simplicity is one of the app's strongest selling points — within minutes of unboxing a Genbolt camera, you can be watching a live feed from anywhere in the world.
Supported Camera Models — One App for Every Genbolt Product
GENBOLT CAM supports the full range of Genbolt security camera hardware across multiple product lines:
WiFi POE & DC Series: GB-102, GB-103, GB-105, GB-106, GB-107, GB-108, GB-109 — fixed and PTZ bullet cameras designed for outdoor surveillance with weatherproof housings, PoE power delivery, and dual-band WiFi connectivity.

What cameras are compatible with GENBOLT CAM?
GENBOLT CAM supports all Genbolt camera models including the WiFi POE series (GB-102 through GB-109), WiFi battery series (GB-201 through GB-220), 4G LTE cameras (GB-216KN-4G, GB-201HN-4G), and the GB-600 NVR system. If you have a GENBOLT PRO series camera (GB-205, GB-208, GB-215), you need the separate GENBOLT PRO app instead.
Does GENBOLT CAM work on PC or Mac?
Yes. Genbolt provides dedicated desktop software for Windows 7/8/10/11 and macOS. You can download the desktop client from the official Genbolt website at genbolt.com/blog/downloads. There is also a standalone GENBOLT CAM Video Player for Windows that plays recorded video files.
How much cloud storage does GENBOLT CAM cost?
GENBOLT CAM offers cloud storage subscriptions starting at $8.99/month for a single camera. Quarterly plans are $29.99, semi-annual plans are $59.99, and annual plans are $99.99. Cloud storage retains motion-triggered video clips for 30 days. The app is free to download and use with local SD card storage — cloud subscriptions are optional.
Can I use GENBOLT cameras with Blue Iris or other NVR software?
Yes. Genbolt cameras support RTSP streaming, which is compatible with Blue Iris, iSpy, Agent DVR, VLC, and Synology Surveillance Station. Setup guides for Blue Iris, iSpy, and VLC are available on the Genbolt support website under the user manual section.
How do I reset my Genbolt camera?
Locate the reset button on your Genbolt camera (usually a small pinhole on the body). Press and hold the reset button for 10-15 seconds until you hear an audio prompt or see the status LED flash. The camera will restart and return to factory default settings. You can then re-add it to your GENBOLT CAM app.
What SD card size does GENBOLT CAM support?
Genbolt cameras support microSD cards up to 128GB. A 64GB card provides approximately 20 days of continuous recording at standard quality settings. We recommend using Class 10 or UHS-I cards for reliable recording performance.
Can I share camera access with family members?
Yes. GENBOLT CAM version 1.0.78 and later supports guest camera permission sharing. You can grant real-time video access, playback permissions, and settings control to family members through the app's sharing feature.
Does GENBOLT CAM support two-way audio?
Yes. All Genbolt cameras with built-in microphones and speakers support two-way audio through the GENBOLT CAM app. You can speak through your phone and the audio plays from the camera's speaker, while the camera's microphone picks up sound from the environment and streams it to your phone.
Why is my Genbolt camera not connecting to the app?
Common connection issues include: (1) Camera and phone on different WiFi networks — ensure they are on the same 2.4GHz network during initial setup. (2) Weak WiFi signal at the camera location — move the camera closer to the router or use a WiFi extender. (3) Firewall blocking P2P connections — check that UDP ports are not restricted. (4) Camera firmware needs updating — check for updates in the app settings. If issues persist, try resetting the camera and repeating the setup process, or contact [email protected].

Set up three GB-107 cameras around my house in about 30 minutes total. The Cloud P2P connection is dead simple — scan the QR code and you are live. Night vision is excellent, can clearly see faces at about 30 feet. The PTZ control from the app is smooth with almost no lag. Running 64GB SD cards in each camera and getting about 20 days of recording before it loops. Solid hardware paired with a functional app. Customer service through [email protected] was responsive when I had a question about FTP settings.
The 4G LTE camera (GB-216KN-4G) was exactly what I needed for monitoring my barn that has no internet service. Popped in a T-Mobile SIM card, added the camera to the GENBOLT CAM app, and had a live feed within ten minutes. Picture quality is good during the day and the night vision keeps things visible after dark. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that the 4G data consumption is significant if you watch the live feed frequently — plan on about 3-5GB per month with motion-triggered recording only.

Been running two Genbolt WiFi cameras for about six months now. The app has improved a lot since the early versions — the guest sharing feature they added recently is great for giving my wife access without sharing login credentials. Live view loads quickly and the two-way audio works well enough to talk to delivery drivers at the door. I would like to see detection zone customization added in a future update to reduce false alerts from tree branches.

The hardware quality of Genbolt cameras is genuinely impressive for the price point — metal housings, clean image quality, good night vision range. The GENBOLT CAM app handles the basics well: live view, playback, alerts. Where it falls short is in advanced recording options. There is no human-only detection mode to filter out animals and vehicles, and no way to set scheduled recording times. These are features that more established competitors offer. The app is functional but has room to grow.

I manage several rental properties and use Genbolt cameras across all of them. The ability to manage WiFi cameras at one property, battery cameras at another, and a 4G camera at a remote lot — all from the same app — makes my life much easier. The cloud storage at $99 per year per camera is reasonable compared to competitors. The Windows desktop software is handy for reviewing footage on a larger screen during incident investigations.

What sold me on Genbolt cameras was the RTSP support. I run Blue Iris on a dedicated Windows PC as my NVR, and these cameras integrated without any issues. The GENBOLT CAM app works as a nice mobile companion when I am away from home, while Blue Iris handles the 24/7 recording and AI detection at home. Getting both a proprietary cloud app AND open RTSP access at this price point is rare. Setup guide on the Genbolt website was clear and accurate.

Really impressed with the night vision quality on the GB-105. The infrared LEDs provide clear black and white footage up to about 100 feet in complete darkness. During dusk and dawn, the camera switches to color night vision which is a nice bonus. The GENBOLT CAM app shows the feed in real time with minimal delay. Motion alerts arrive on my phone within 2-3 seconds of detection. Only knocking off one star because the app occasionally needs to be force-closed and reopened after a WiFi switch.

Compared several budget security camera options and went with Genbolt because of the all-metal construction and PoE support. The GENBOLT CAM app is straightforward — nothing fancy but everything works. Live view, recordings, alerts, PTZ control are all there. The Cloud P2P setup was genuinely easy, no messing with port forwarding on my router. The app supports 16 languages which is unusual for a smaller brand. Would recommend for anyone who wants a reliable outdoor camera without a subscription requirement.

Using GB-201HN-4G cameras at two construction sites. The 4G connection has been stable and reliable over four months. The GENBOLT CAM app lets me check in on both sites from my office. Battery life on the solar-powered model has been great — have not needed to manually charge since installation. The motion detection sends alerts fast enough that I can pull up the live feed while activity is still happening. Exactly what I needed for temporary remote monitoring.
Google Play
This is my first security camera and the setup was easier than I expected. The app walked me through connecting the camera to WiFi and I had a picture within five minutes. Image quality is good and the night vision works. My main frustrations are that there is no scheduling for when recording is active, and after updating my WiFi password the camera needed a full reset to reconnect. The app could also use a home screen widget for quick camera access. For the price, though, it gets the job done.

This breadth of hardware support means a single GENBOLT CAM account can manage an entire property's security infrastructure — mixing WiFi cameras at the house, battery cameras at the gate, and a 4G camera at the barn — all visible from the same app dashboard.
Cloud P2P Setup — From Box to Live View in Minutes
The GENBOLT CAM setup process is deliberately minimal. The Cloud P2P architecture eliminates the complex network configuration that traditionally plagued IP camera installations:
Download GENBOLT CAM from the App Store or Google Play
Create an account or sign in
Add your camera by scanning the QR code or entering the Cloud ID printed on the camera label
Connect to WiFi (for WiFi models) or insert a SIM card (for 4G models)
View live video — the camera appears on your dashboard immediately
No router port forwarding. No DDNS setup. No static IP addresses. The P2P tunnel handles the connection automatically, punching through NAT firewalls and establishing an encrypted link between your camera and your phone. For users who previously struggled with RTSP URLs and network configuration, this is a genuine relief.
Live Video & PTZ Camera Control
Once connected, GENBOLT CAM streams real-time video from your cameras with low-latency performance suitable for active monitoring. The live view interface provides:
Real-time video feed with resolution switching
PTZ control — swipe to pan and tilt, pinch to zoom on supported models
Two-way audio — talk through the camera's speaker and listen through the microphone
Screenshot capture — save still images directly from the live feed
Manual recording — tap to record video clips on demand
Night vision toggle — switch between infrared and color night vision modes
For PTZ-equipped models like the GB-105 and GB-107, the app provides smooth directional control with preset positions. You can define patrol routes that automatically sweep the camera across a specified arc, covering a wider area without manual intervention.
Storage Options — Local SD Card & Cloud Subscriptions
GENBOLT CAM offers two storage tiers to match different security requirements and budgets:
Local SD Card Storage is supported on all Genbolt cameras. Insert a microSD card (up to 128GB) and the camera records continuously or on motion detection. A 64GB card typically holds approximately 20 days of continuous recording, depending on resolution and compression settings. Playback is accessible directly through the app with a timeline interface for scrubbing to specific timestamps.
Cloud Storage Subscriptions provide off-site backup through Genbolt's cloud infrastructure. Subscription plans include:
Monthly: $8.99/month (single camera)
Quarterly: $29.99/quarter
Semi-Annual: $59.99/6 months
Annual: $99.99/year
Cloud storage ensures that footage survives even if the camera or SD card is damaged, stolen, or destroyed. Motion-triggered clips are uploaded automatically and retained for 30 days, accessible from any device logged into your GENBOLT CAM account.
Motion Detection & Alert System
Every Genbolt camera includes motion detection that triggers instant push notifications to your phone through the GENBOLT CAM app. When movement is detected in the camera's field of view, you receive an alert within seconds — tap the notification to jump directly to the live feed and assess the situation in real time.
The alert system also supports:
Email notifications — configure SMTP settings to receive motion alerts via email with attached snapshots
FTP uploads — automatically upload captured images to an FTP server for archival
Alarm scheduling — set detection sensitivity and active hours to reduce false alerts during high-traffic periods
Desktop Software — Windows & Mac Support
Unlike many competitor apps that are mobile-only, GENBOLT CAM extends to desktop platforms with dedicated software for Windows (7, 8, 10, 11) and macOS. The desktop client provides the same live view, playback, and camera management features available on mobile, displayed on a larger screen that is better suited for extended monitoring sessions.
Additionally, Genbolt provides a standalone GENBOLT CAM Video Player for Windows, which plays back recorded video files from SD cards or cloud downloads without requiring the full app installation.
For advanced users, Genbolt cameras support RTSP streaming compatible with third-party surveillance software including Blue Iris, iSpy, and VLC Media Player. Detailed setup guides are available on the Genbolt support website.
Third-Party Integration — Blue Iris, iSpy & VLC
Power users and professional installers appreciate Genbolt cameras' compatibility with industry-standard surveillance platforms. The RTSP stream URL is documented in the official support materials, enabling integration with:
Blue Iris — the most popular Windows-based NVR software
iSpy / Agent DVR — open-source video surveillance with AI features
VLC Media Player — for simple single-camera monitoring
Synology Surveillance Station and other NAS-based recording systems
This RTSP compatibility transforms Genbolt cameras from a proprietary ecosystem into versatile network cameras that work with virtually any IP camera management platform.
