CTRONICS is the older legacy app that works with earlier Ctronics camera models. Ctronics Pro is the newer, redesigned app with a modernized interface and expanded device support. For cameras purchased after 2023, Ctronics Pro is the recommended app. Both apps are available on the App Store and Google Play, but new features and camera models are only added to Ctronics Pro.
Download Ctronics Pro, create an account or log in, then tap the + button to add a new camera. Choose your camera type (Wi-Fi, wired, 4G, etc.) and follow the on-screen instructions. For Wi-Fi cameras, the app will guide you through QR code scanning or Bluetooth pairing to connect the camera to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz network during setup if your camera doesn't support 5GHz.
Common causes for a Ctronics camera going offline include: Wi-Fi network issues or router restart, camera power loss, camera firmware needing an update, or the camera being out of Wi-Fi range. Try power-cycling the camera, checking your router status, moving the camera closer to the router, and ensuring the camera firmware is up to date through the Ctronics Pro app.
Some newer Ctronics camera models support dual-band Wi-Fi (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz), while older models only support 2.4GHz. Check your specific camera model's specifications to confirm 5GHz support. During initial setup, the app will indicate which Wi-Fi bands are supported. If your camera only supports 2.4GHz, make sure your phone is connected to the 2.4GHz band of your router during setup.
Open Ctronics Pro, go to your camera's settings, and find the Cloud Storage section. You can start with a free 30-day trial or subscribe to a paid plan with 7-day or 30-day recording retention. Once activated, motion-triggered clips are automatically uploaded to the cloud. You can view, download, and manage cloud recordings from the app's playback section. An automatic renewal feature is also available.
Yes, Ctronics cameras can be accessed on Windows and Mac using the HiP2P desktop client software. Download HiP2P from the official Ctronics download center at ctronics.com/pages/download-center. It's a pretty good app, has a lot of features and I'm glad I gave Ctronics a try, the app is stable and works, but could use a makeover for starters why not make the app logo a security camera, and please add a dark mode.
I have one of their dual cameras and before this update it was a pain to view, but now WOW it shows on the main screen (4 cameras at once) I just tap it for full screen and there it is. GREAT fix I love it.
PTZ control is responsive and the night vision quality is impressive for the price point. Cloud storage subscription is reasonable. The app could use a more modern UI but functionality is solid.
Gets the job done for basic monitoring. Setup was easy enough following the QR code method. Occasionally the live feed takes a few seconds to connect but once running it's stable.
