What Is ClareVision?
ClareVision is a free video surveillance companion app designed for the ClareVision camera ecosystem, including IP cameras, NVRs (Network Video Recorders), and the ClareVision Smart Video Doorbell. The app gives homeowners, families, and professional installers an easy way to monitor properties remotely, review recorded events, and receive instant push notifications when motion or other security events are detected.
Available on both the Apple App Store (iOS 13.0+) and Google Play (Android), ClareVision delivers practical security management across mobile and tablet devices.

What devices does the ClareVision app support?
ClareVision supports all ClareVision IP cameras (Value, Performance, and Color at Night series), 4/8/16-channel NVRs, and the ClareVision Smart Video Doorbell. It also works with legacy ClareVision Plus cameras, Luma cameras, and other ONVIF-compliant cameras when connected through a ClareVision NVR.
Do I need to set up port forwarding for remote access?
No. ClareVision cameras and NVRs do not require any port forwarding. Once you add a device to the app, remote access is enabled automatically through ClareVision's free P2P cloud service.
What is the difference between ClareVision and Clare Video Plus?
ClareVision is the current-generation app for managing ClareVision cameras, NVRs, and the Smart Video Doorbell. Clare Video Plus is a legacy app for older ClareVision Plus hardware. Both apps are available, but new installations should use ClareVision.
Can I add cameras remotely without being on the same network?
Yes. Tap the '+' button on the home screen, then scan the UUID barcode or enter it manually along with the camera password. The camera will be added to your account for remote access.
How do I update my camera firmware?
All ClareVision cameras can be updated via the ClareVision OTA server using the mobile app. Update notifications appear during app setup or as icons in live view when new firmware is available.
Does ClareVision work with the ClareOne security panel?
Yes. ClareVision integrates with the ClareOne Panel and ClareHome App. Camera live feeds can be accessed directly from the ClareOne panel, and deep linking between apps provides seamless navigation.
What are Smart Events and which cameras support them?
Smart Events are advanced detection features that require human presence to trigger, reducing false alarms. They include intrusion zone detection, line crossing, loitering detection, and people gathering alerts. Only ClareVision Performance Series cameras support Smart Events.
Are ClareVision cameras NDAA compliant?
Yes. The entire ClareVision product line is compliant with NDAA regulations, making them suitable for government and enterprise installations.
What storage options are available?
ClareVision cameras support local SD card recording (16GB–128GB depending on model). NVRs come with internal hard drives (1TB for 4-channel, 2TB for 8-channel, 4TB for 16-channel) expandable up to 32TB. NVRs also support USB drives and NAS for additional storage.
