Love this! I have the camera birdhouse and birdbath pro and I love them both. Currently have bluebirds nesting in the birdhouse. They frequently have sales which makes things more affordable. The AI powered moving camera takes some great close up imagery. Customer service has been great too.

Good feeder for the price. Has some connectivity issues and inability to change previously saved networks requiring re-pairing. Would benefit from partnerships with eBird, Merlin Bird ID, Audubon Society, and Cornell Lab of Ornithology for enhanced user experience.

Works well, but UI is pretty janky. Basic functionality is decent with good video quality and movement detection. However, there are several bugs including deleted videos remaining in collections and missing thumbnails. Tagged videos require retagging before community sharing.
App Store
The Birdfy app is clean, gives us timely notifications of bird visits. It's a nice step up from the Netvue app. Really enjoy watching our feathered friends visit the feeder throughout the day.

I love my bird feeder! I have learned to identify so many birds since getting it. The AI does a good job most of the time. The community feature is nice for seeing what others are spotting in their yards.
Google Play
Nice device with good camera quality. The solar panel charges well. The app could use some improvements in data editing and the AI sometimes misidentifies common birds, but overall it's a fun addition to birdwatching.
Google Play
Amazing bird feeder camera! The setup was easy and I was watching birds within minutes. The collection feature helps me track all the species that visit. Highly recommend for any bird lover.
The Birdfy camera uses motion detection to automatically trigger recording when a bird arrives. Each visit generates a 20-second video clip (extendable with MVR subscription) that is saved to your timeline. The app sends instant push notifications so you never miss a visitor, and you can adjust cooldown periods and detection sensitivity to match your preferences.
Two-way audio support on compatible devices lets you listen to bird songs in real time and even play sounds to attract specific species — adding an interactive dimension to the birdwatching experience.
AI Bird Identification
One of Birdfy's most powerful features is its AI bird identification system. Powered by advanced machine learning algorithms, the AI can identify over 6,000 bird and animal species worldwide. For hummingbird feeder users specifically, the system recognizes more than 150 hummingbird species with remarkable accuracy.
When a bird visits your feeder, the AI automatically analyzes the captured image — examining body shape, plumage patterns, coloration, size, and bill morphology — to deliver a species identification. Results are tagged to each moment clip, making it easy to browse your timeline by species. The AI continuously improves through user feedback: if an identification is incorrect, you can submit a correction that helps refine the model for the entire community.
AI Bird Recognition is available as an optional subscription (from $5.89/month or $99.99 lifetime), while free users still benefit from community-contributed identifications and can manually tag their clips.
Moment Capture & Collections
Every bird visit triggers an automatic Moment — a short video clip captured by the motion-activated camera. These moments form the core content library of your Birdfy experience. Free users receive auto-recorded clips with basic storage, while MVR (Moment Video Recording) subscribers can extend recording duration and access enhanced cloud storage.
The Collection feature lets you organize your favorite moments into a personal bird species gallery. Star any clip to add it permanently to your Collection, where it is stored with 5 GB of free Collection space. AI-tagged clips are automatically categorized by species, making it effortless to review all sightings of a particular bird type. Your Collection becomes a living album of every species that has ever visited your feeder — a digital life list that grows over time.
Highlights & Recaps
Birdfy keeps you engaged with AI-generated Daily Highlights and Monthly Recaps. The Highlight feature compiles a daily summary of bird visits to your feeder, stored for 6 days so you can catch up even if you miss a day. Each Highlight includes visit counts, species variety, and the best moments from the day.
The Recap feature generates a comprehensive 30-day summary that includes total visits, species diversity statistics, comparison compilations, and a curated recap video. It is a satisfying way to reflect on a month of birdwatching activity and see trends in your feeder's popularity.
Birdfy Data provides long-term analytics with bar-graph summaries showing bird visiting patterns over weeks and months. You can track species frequency, identify seasonal trends, and understand which times of day are busiest at your feeder — turning casual observation into data-driven birdwatching.
Community & Sharing
The Birdfy Community 2.0 platform connects birdwatchers worldwide. Share your best bird moments, follow other users, comment on posts, and receive notifications when someone interacts with your content. The community transforms birdwatching from a solitary hobby into a social experience where you can discover what species are being spotted in different regions, exchange identification tips, and celebrate rare sightings together.
Device sharing is unlimited — you can share your Birdfy camera feed with as many family members and friends as you want through the app. Each shared user can customize their own notification preferences, so everyone in the household can enjoy the birdwatching experience on their own terms.
Story Feature
For Birdfy birdhouse devices (Nest, Nest Duo, Nest Polygon, Nest Ebony), the exclusive Story feature tracks the complete lifecycle of cavity-nesting birds. From nest building to egg laying, incubation, hatching, and fledging — the Story feature documents each stage with automatic detection and recording. It is a uniquely intimate window into avian family life that is only possible with an indoor birdhouse camera.
