What is the Panasonic Image App and what does it do?
The Panasonic Image App is a free official application from Panasonic that lets you remotely control Wi-Fi-enabled Panasonic digital cameras and camcorders from your smartphone. Key functions include viewing the camera's live-view screen, remote shutter control, wireless photo and video transfer, GPS geotagging, automatic image transfer, and direct upload to social networking services.
Is there a Panasonic Image App for PC or Mac?
No, the Panasonic Image App is available only for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. For PC and Mac users, Panasonic offers LUMIX Tether, a desktop application that provides tethered shooting control over USB. LUMIX Tether allows remote live view, shutter control, and image transfer on Windows and macOS.
What is the difference between Panasonic Image App and LUMIX Sync?
Panasonic Image App supports a wider range of older Panasonic cameras, including Micro Four Thirds models (GH5, G9, GX9), compact cameras (TZ/ZS series, LX100 II), and camcorders released before 2019. LUMIX Sync is the newer app designed primarily for full-frame S-series cameras (S1, S1R, S5, S5 II) and some newer Micro Four Thirds models. Check your camera's manual to determine which app is compatible.
Why won't my Panasonic Image App connect to my camera?
Common solutions: 1) Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on your camera (check the camera's Wi-Fi menu). 2) On your phone, connect to the camera's Wi-Fi SSID (usually starts with 'GC_' or 'HC_'). 3) Update the app to the latest version. 4) For Bluetooth-compatible cameras, ensure Bluetooth is turned on in both the camera and phone settings. 5) Try restarting both the camera and the app. 6) Check that your phone's OS version is supported (iOS 15+ or Android 4.4+).
How do I transfer photos from my Panasonic camera to my phone?
Step 1: Open the Panasonic Image App on your smartphone. Step 2: Enable Wi-Fi on your camera and connect your phone to the camera's Wi-Fi network. Step 3: Once connected, tap the playback icon in the app to browse photos stored on the camera. Step 4: Select the photos you want to transfer and tap the download/save button to copy them to your phone. For cameras with Bluetooth, you can also enable automatic transfer in the app settings.
Does the Panasonic Image App support GPS geotagging?
Yes. The Panasonic Image App can record GPS location data from your smartphone and attach it to photos taken with your camera. To use this feature, enable location services for the app on your phone, then activate the GPS logging function in the app. The app will continuously log your phone's GPS coordinates and sync them with your camera's timestamps to geotag your photos.
Is the Panasonic Image App free?
Yes, the Panasonic Image App is completely free to download and use. There are no in-app purchases or subscription fees. All features including remote shooting, photo transfer, GPS geotagging, and SNS upload are available at no cost.
Which Panasonic cameras are compatible with the Image App?
The Panasonic Image App supports a wide range of Wi-Fi-enabled Panasonic cameras including: LUMIX mirrorless cameras (GH5, GH5S, G9, G90/G95, GX9, GF10, G80/G85, G7 and more), compact cameras (TZ99/ZS99, TZ95/ZS80, FZ1000 II, LX100 II, TZ200/ZS200, FZ80/FZ82, and more), 4K camcorders (HC-VX3, HC-WXF1, HC-VX1, HC-V800 and more), and wearable cameras (HX-A1M, HX-A500). The latest update has finally made this app awesome. There's full screen mode now, and you can not just adjust settings but fully navigate camera menus. You can finally transfer videos to your phone directly instead of just photos. Great improvement over previous versions.

Added support for DC-TZ99/ZS99. Supported iOS 18 and Android 15.
Works perfectly with my GH5 for remote shooting. The live view is smooth enough for composing shots and the touch shutter is very responsive. Transfer speed could be faster for large RAW files, but overall a solid companion for my Panasonic camera.

Essential app for any LUMIX user. I use it mainly for geotagging my travel photos and transferring JPEGs to my phone for instant Instagram sharing. The Bluetooth auto-connect on my G9 makes the whole process seamless.

Remote shutter control is perfect for my long exposure work. I can trigger the camera from my phone without any vibration. The live view helps me frame shots in the dark. Wish there was a desktop version but the mobile app does the job.

Decent remote control app. The wireless transfer saves me time during client shoots when they want to see photos immediately. Interface is a bit dated compared to newer camera apps, but it's functional and reliable once connected.

Been using this with my FZ1000 II for two years. Remote shooting works great for wildlife photography where I need to trigger the camera from a distance. The live view quality is good enough to check composition and focus.

Very useful for group photos and selfies with my LUMIX G85. Set up the camera on a tripod, frame the shot on my phone, and tap to shoot. The automatic transfer feature is also handy for quickly sharing to social media.

Works well enough for basic remote control of my HC-VX1 camcorder. Can start/stop recording remotely which is useful for vlogging setups. Photo transfer is reliable. Would appreciate higher frame rate on the live view preview.

Perfect companion for my LUMIX cameras during travel photography in Japan. GPS logging lets me tag exact locations, and I can quickly transfer highlights to my phone for social sharing. Connects reliably via Bluetooth.

Does what it needs to do. I mainly use it to transfer photos from my TZ90 to my phone. The process is straightforward once you get the Wi-Fi connection figured out. Not the prettiest app but functional.
