How do I add a camera to the DMSS app?
You can add Dahua devices to DMSS by scanning the QR code on the device, entering the device's serial number (SN) for P2P connection, or manually inputting the IP address/domain. The P2P method is the easiest and does not require port forwarding or DDNS setup. Make sure your device is connected to the internet and powered on before adding.
Can I use DMSS on a PC or Mac?
DMSS is designed as a mobile app for iOS and Android. For PC and Mac monitoring, Dahua offers SmartPSS Lite, a free desktop application with similar functionality including live view, playback, device management, and alarm handling. SmartPSS Lite is available for Windows. Mac users with Apple M1 or later chips can run the iOS version of DMSS directly.
Why is my DMSS camera showing offline or P2P disconnected?
Camera offline issues are usually caused by network problems. Check that your camera/NVR is powered on and connected to the internet. Verify your router is working and the device has a valid IP address. Restart the device and router if needed. Also ensure P2P is enabled in the device settings (Network > P2P). If using cellular data, check that DMSS has mobile data permission enabled.
Can multiple users access the same cameras on DMSS?
Yes, DMSS supports device sharing. The device owner can share access with family members or colleagues by sending an invitation through the app. Shared users can be assigned different permission levels including view-only, playback access, or full control. The device transfer feature also allows transferring device ownership between accounts.
Does DMSS support cloud storage?
Yes, DMSS launched paid cloud storage with Basic and Pro plans. The Basic plan starts at $3.49/month ($34.99/year) and the Pro plan at $6.99/month ($69.99/year). What types of Dahua devices work with DMSS?

How do I fix DMSS notification issues?
If you're not receiving push notifications: 1) Ensure you're logged into your DMSS account (push requires login). 2) Check that notifications are enabled in phone Settings > DMSS. 3) Verify alarm push is enabled in DMSS device settings. 4) Disable battery optimization/power saving for DMSS. 5) Check that the device's alarm detection (motion, intrusion) is properly configured and armed.

I had this system installed in my girlfriend's restaurant. Workers were stealing from the register and not ringing up orders. After installing CCTV cameras with DMSS, the problem completely disappeared! The system has great features — she can monitor the restaurant remotely from anywhere. Still working excellently years later. Highly recommended for affordable security.

I'm a low voltage contractor and I use Dahua extensively. The Ultra series and Pro series 8K NVRs are my go-to. I've installed hundreds of systems with only two camera failures ever. DMSS setup is easy, remote viewing is solid, and Dahua customer service is excellent. Best bang for your buck security system on the market.

Had the DMSS app for years. The recent V2.0 update is incredible! Running much smoother now with a cleaner interface. On my iPhone 15 Pro Max, switching between camera angles now takes 1.5 seconds versus the previous 4.5-6 seconds. Best update they've ever done. Security camera monitoring is critical for me and DMSS delivers.

I have a six-camera exterior system plus one interior camera. Love the picture quality and quick live view connection. I monitored my Florida cameras from Arizona during a hurricane — everything worked perfectly over cellular data. The fast-forward playback feature is really useful for reviewing footage quickly. Highly recommend DMSS.

My Dahua system with DMSS has never failed in several years. Five cameras for 24/7 video monitoring. The app is reliable and video footage is very clear, especially with good outdoor lighting. Night videos are impressive too. DMSS works consistently well and gives me an excellent sense of security. Well worth the investment.

Great app for managing my Dahua NVR and 8 IP cameras. The P2P connection makes remote viewing easy without messing with port forwarding. Live view loads fast and playback search is intuitive. Only reason for 4 stars is occasional notification delays, but overall DMSS is the best free security camera app I've used.

DMSS V2.0 is a massive improvement over the old version. The new UI is modern and responsive, multi-window live view is perfect for monitoring all cameras at once, and the device sharing feature lets my husband access our home cameras with his own account. Setup was straightforward with the QR code scan.
