Set up was a bit tricky but once I got it configured, everything works well. I can view all 8 cameras on my phone from anywhere. The QR code scan feature made adding the DVR much easier than typing in the serial number manually. Picture quality on live view is decent and playback works reliably. Happy I got it all working.

I've been using XMEye Pro for my home security system with 4 cameras. The P2P connection is convenient — no port forwarding needed. Live view works smoothly on Wi-Fi and reasonably well on 4G. The motion detection alerts help me know when someone is at the door. The app could use a UI refresh but functionally it does the job.

The cameras work great, most of the time. We have one camera that seems to glitch out often. Not bad out of six. However, the app is super slow to load up. If I just minimize the app, but did not fully close it out, when I open it again, it will show me the view from the previous time. I have to completely close out and restart the app to get the current view.

App would be a lot better if it didn't have a timer on watching my cameras. I don't need to be reminded how long I've been watching. The settings features in the system could be a little more user friendly too. Not everyone is an IT expert. Overall though the basic stuff is pretty easy to use and navigate. Linking the system to the app could be a little more user friendly too.

Best free security camera app for budget CCTV systems. I have 3 different DVRs from different brands and they all work with XMEye since they use Xiongmai chipsets. Managing multiple systems in one app is very convenient. Live view quality is good and the snapshot feature helps me document incidents. Highly recommended for affordable surveillance.
